Teen-Age Confirmation

Celebrating the Holy Spirit

At baptism, a child is initiated into the Church, becoming a member of God's family and heir to heaven.

The Church teaches that without confirmation, the grace of baptism is not complete.

Now is the time for a young adult to complete the preparation so that the person is fully initiated into the Catholic Church.

Young adults who have completed the Tenth Grade Faith Formation program are invited to enter into the final direct preparation process leading to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at a Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Syracuse.

By the Sacrament of Confirmation, (the baptized) are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.
